"Yes, we have heard your cries and … well, okay, we feel bad. Sure, we can make all sorts of excuses for why it’s taken us two whole months to post a new Bootie Top 10, or 20, as the case may be — we were busy preparing for the Bootie 9-Year Anniversary, then we went to Burning Man, then we came back and life sort of slammed us in the face, blah blah blah — but still, we recognize it’s been WAY too long.
The new Bootie Mashup web site is still being developed, but when it launches, rest assured, there will be a steady stream of quality mashups each week. And with last month’s demise of GYBO — one of the internet’s best sources for bootlegs — we recognize that now, more than ever, there needs to be a site that curates the best of the mashup world. The bootleg scene is healthier – yet more fragmented – than ever before. But that’s why Bootie’s here, to bring it all together.
This month, we mix and match several variations of a few songs, such as “Good Time,” “Gangnam Style,” “Rumour Has It,” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).” Think of them the same way we do when parts of certain songs repeat in and out of DJ sets at Bootie — they are muscial motifs!"
