Returning to Los Angeles and finding a new location at Hollywood’s Safari Sam’s this Saturday, is the party of all mash-up parties, Bootie! And I must say I was ever so pleased to hear of their new location, as Safari Sam’s has become one of my favorite venues in town, for various reasons. And, like every other Bootie event expect the night to be one hell of an entertaining night. Kicking things off at 10:30 will be a rare performance by what many consider the pioneers of the bootleg world “The Evolution Control Committee”. ECC will be onstage to do a Wheel of Mash-Up show. The wheel is actually two wheels: the outer one chooses the music, and the inner one chooses the vocals. Audience members are brought up on stage to spin the wheel, and the music and vocals are mashed up on the fly. The Midnight mash up show will feature La’s very own Foxy Cotton. He was the mastermind behind last year's mini rock-opera version of the Dean Gray - American Edit bootleg album, and he knows how to put on a show! And as always Bootie La resident DJ’s Adrian & the Mysterious D and DJ Paul V. will be on hand dishing out the primo mash-up bootlegs all night. Be sure to tune in to DJ Paul V.’s weekly show “The Smash Mix” on La’s Indie 103.1 to get a preview of some of the tunes you will hear at Bootie. And if for some God forsaken reason you can’t attend Bootie on Saturday, tune into his other show on Indie 103.1“Neon Noise” (you can stream it live from the indie 103.1 web site.) from 12am-3am.
