Stuck in the Eighties

Our resident editor Simon Iddol has been a busy boy putting together his latest Mashup compilation in his WHA!? Mashuptown is Proud to Introduce The Illuminiods

A new addition to the Mashuptown crew are the Illuminiods.  Based out of Los Angeles, CA they describe themselves as "Mashup, Megamix, Re-Mix, and De-Mix Monsters".   They are quickly making a name for themselves in the Mashup Community with a blend of clever tracks that suck you in and won't let you go.  Make sure you head on over to theirspace and get the complete 411.  Had trouble picking a track to spin here but went with a Mashup entitled "Lose it Punk"  - it Mashes up The Teddy Bears with Iggy Pop's 'Punk Rocker' with Eminem's 'Lose it'.  Brilliant track.  Keep your heads up for the Illuminoids - most likely to be returning to the MTown soon.  Really stoked to find these dudes. DJ Morgoth - Living in Amerika

Hailing from Germany DJ Morgoth has been producing some fine Mashups for quite some time.  This track combining 'Rammstien' and 'The Sounds' holds a special place in my heart.  A few months ago this editor finally became Naturalized in the USA.  But aside from that this track mixes flawlessly - so well in fact that if you were not familiar with either original artists you'd swear it wasn't a Mashup.  Major props are in order for Morgoth for his contribution to the Mashup Community with this great pop Mashup.  Make sure yøu çheck out his site here.  You all have a great week.  Peace.

Kickin' it old School with DJ Zebra

Hope you all are having a great weekend.  We thought we'd pay some respect and give some big ups to one of the early pioneers in the Mashup world - DJ Zebra.  This track is close to 5 years old and takes us back to 2002.  Zebra had this to say recently about the track in an interview:

I didn't know where to find acapellas, so i needed a track with space in it (the Shaggy song had only electronic drums, low bass and voice), then I could add heavy drums and guitars (the RATM riff), without equalizing it. It sounded good, I still play it, and it has become a hit of the bootlegs parties.

A Burrowful Of Boots - The Groundhog Day Album

Finally it's weekeeeeeeeeeeeeend! We all have more time for our fave passion, mashups. So here is a megapack. A brand new mashup album produced by DJ Useo titled A Burrowful Of Boots - The Groundhog Day Album. You can find more than 20 ice melting mashups there, beside of the album there are bonus tracks and a megamix too!!Total RESPECT for all the creative minds involved in this (DJ Useo, Supakon, MP3J, Stab, Copycat, DJ Morgoth, Boottyboy,   Mr.10ec, Dj Peaking, Dublxero, DJ Entropy, DJ FiveFive, Tizwarz, Stab, Budtheweiser, Barbara  & Neckice) and I can't imagine a best weekend chill now than dancing around in my house for these boots. My current fave is Supakon's Vanilla's Theme (Vanilla Ice vs Jan Hammer), which makes the totally awful Ice Ice Baby very enjoyable! Have a great weekend and I'm sure you will after grabbing the Groundhog Day Album.
