A plus D on Europe Tour

Yes the rumours are true...A plus D from San Francisco, best known as the Creators & DJ's of BOOTIE USA, are currently in Europe...they are visiting 5 cities and playing 7 partys within the next weeks...be sure to check all their dates.

This weekend the tour starts on Friday at the fabolous BOOTIE MUNICH Party. Together with DJ Schmolli and BootOX they will ruining all the bavarian favourite songs. ;-)

On Saturday I'll welcome A plus D in Berlin at my Mash-Up Your Bootz meets BOOTIE Party. I think A plus D will bring some BOOTIE Spirit to boring Berlin. ;-)
Besides A plus D and me, DJ Morgoth, Dr.Waumiau is also rocking my Laptop...haha...

So German BOOTIE fans, visit my friends in Munich or say "Hello" to us in Berlin and let's have some cool drinks together or dance with Pittiplatsch.

Twittertown

Twitter I'm declaring email, message board, and rss feed bankruptcy.  For the next month I'm going to try to track new Mashups via Twitter.com.  Call it lazy, slack-ass or whatever but I'm just having way too much difficulty keeping track of submissions and I've most likely pissed too many of you off.  We are just missing too many good tracks.  So if you are a producer and want to experiment with this sign up for an account and ping me at twitter (mashuptown).  Or if you are just a user and hear a great track that you deem worthy do the same.  I will then follow you and pick up any new tracks that you want posted.  All will be monitored using Twirl.org.  The main site will NOT change NOR will your subscription method of choice.  This is only changing how we may gather mashup submissions.  Our tweet page is HERE. That is all.  Peace.

UPDATE:  Decided to publish some tracks that won't be available on the main site. It will give more producers more exposure and you more tracks.  So get an account and watch for tweets.

You might also want to check out Clivester's new album over at Mashup-Industries.  Titled the 'Odd American Gangster' is features Jay-Z up against Gnarls Barkley - mass tuneage.

Nine Inch Conchords - Closer to Business Time

Nine_inch_concords This great track found it's way to my in box earlier today.   Dan Dickenson and his VJ Army mixed a delicious mash which he describes below.

'In one hypothetical hand, I hold an instrumental version of Trent Reznor'sCloser. The original is directly sexual and raw. It continues to have one of the most familiar refrains in recent musical history - you know, the one about, er, doing things to people like an animal and feeling them from the inside.

In my other hypothetical hand, I hold the original staged version of Business Time by New Zealand's fourth most popular folk rock parody band, Flight Of The Conchords.  Never has the actual process of lovemaking been so accurately described.'

Make sure you check out Dan's site right HERE.  A big shout out to Derek Scott who tipped us off to this track.  FOTC is one of my favorite shows so this track really made my day. Peace

Yazoo: Nobody's Diary '08 (A Copycat Remix)

Coveryazooth6 New Copycat just hit our inbox.  A few words below from Mr. Copycat

'As you've probably heard, Yazoo have re-united and are heading out on a tour presently. Last summer I was involved in a "Remix the eighties" project, that apparently went m.i.a. along the way. As various remixes are starting to surface, I thought I'd get on with it and promote this baby myself.

Back in the days, when Vince Clarke decided to jump the Depeche Mode ship and head for poppier pastures, I was convinced my infatuation with the band was over. But a couple of singles later on, Martin Gore penned "See you", and I let out a sigh as long as a monster truck tire losing its air. What's more, Vince went on to form the marvellous duo Yazoo, comprising everything I loved about DM, plus a little bit of soul on top, courtesy of Alison Moyet's wonderful bluesy voice.
When I was invited to join this project, I knew exactly what to remix: “Nobody's diary”, the prelude to Yazoo's second album "You and me both". When it was released originally, the 12" was just another boring extended job with no added value whatsoever. I always missed a proper remix of the song – a dance remix, to be precise. Well, here’s my shot at it.
I kinda had a vision of Yazoo hooking up with the Pet Shop Boys and the Latin Rascals at an Electro House party hosted by the Swedish House Mafia. The result? Not even close. But hopefully quite fun anyway. All together now: "Aaaaaah....."'

Overdub

Comeasthestarlight_2

I don’t know much about this mashup artist other than his name – Overdub – and that he is from France. Well, that’s not totally true. I also know that he (or she?) is making some sick mashups. He uses a really eclectic assortment of source material, and comes up with unique results that are well produced. Go to his website HERE to see what I’m talking about. But before you do, check out this great mash of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” and The Superman Lovers’ “Starlight” which was featured on the latest roundup of mashups over at Bootie. I was really impressed when Bobby Martini used the same Superman Lovers track to improve Brittney Spears’ “Toxic.” (Find that track HERE). But I have to say I’m at least equally impressed with what Overdub has done with the same music and different vocals. Anyways, enough talking. Right-click away.

Bobby's Back!

Ava One of our favorites here at mashuptown goes by the name of Bobby Martini, and we’re pleased to bring you his comeback track after months of waiting. What we got here is a Pink (aka Alecia) vs Alesha Dixon mash that Bobby started almost a year ago, but was put on the backburner time and time again as he finished up other combos. Well now it’s done. And it’s good. Take note people, this is a lesson in mashupology. A + B = C. C>B. C>A.  C = Proper mashup.

DJ Not-I Apologies Reunion

Tndracula77 I was reminded today that we haven't shown DJ Not-I some love lately so I headed on over to one of his many sites (myspace here) and found a track that needed to be shared.  This track was produced for a GYBO regae/dub/dancehall challenge.  We found it delectable.  Nostalgia 77 vs. Bob Marley vs. Lee Perry - Dracula's 77 Nation Army.  We also found the collectors edition of 'Feel All Apologies'  (one of my all time favorite Mashups) Yes all 31mb of uncompressed aural pleasure.  Enjoy.  Peace.
