"Sometimes mashes come together by accident, and this one sure did! I was making mixes for my weekly radio show and wanted to include a track from Epic Man called "Sharpen The Knives," which is a bangin' electro tune. But, it's all instrumental so I thought I'd see about dropping in some some acapellas to spice it up a little. I picked "Shiny Disco Balls" and "Nightlife by IAMX. But then, it sort've took on a nightlife, and dancing and drugs theme, after I added in the No Doubt 'pella too. So there ya have it! I shall be droppin' this with a premiere on the Bootie LA dancefloor this weekend!"

Khyzer Zuke Found Alive!

Google is your friend.  Whilst frolicking about the internets last night I suddenly had a thought pop into me mind to search for Khyzer Zuke.  You see I was at a little event earlier in the evening and heard an L7 track that reminded me of one of my favorite Mashup tunes of all time 'Pretend We Are Breathing' that we featured a long time ago (HERE).  Back then I had little to no info on Mr. Zuke - no website, email, anything.  Fast forward and a new goog search let me to the Khyzer Zuke site.  Praise the internets.  You'll find many great tracks there to worship.  For a quick taste check out 'Block Rock into Another' - The Charletans vs. The Chemical Brothers.  Glad I found ya Mate.  Happy Sunday.  Peace.

Time for a disco workout! Brussels, Belgium frontrunner Ben Double M is a prolific mashup artist who heavily favors disco and house fused mashups, and he just created a floorburner. Kidding on the Boogie takes Jay Kid’s "Blame it on the Boogie" and Angie Stone’s "I Wasn't Kidding" (Freemasons remix) and puts them together into a sure club hit. Well the world can’t seem to leave Britney alone, and that includes mashup artists. Toxic is one of baldy’s most popular tracks, and therefore has been a popular choice for mashups, although it’s not the easiest song to find a match for. But it’s been done a couple of times, as it has been here with vocals from Motown band the Velvettes. Dunproofin’ from the UK has created a diverse catalogue of mashups over the years, and with ones like this, we hope he never stops!

Shut Up on a Blue Monday

ComaR is an established mashup artist from Paris, Ile-de-France, France. In this new track, he pulls the instrumental and vocal chorus from Rihanna’s Shut up and Drive and the acapella from New Order’s Blue Monday. On his blog he says in an almost apologetic tone that it’s an obvious combo. But he has nothing to apologize for. This is a heavy mashup destined to pack dance floors. Happy New Year!
