Well it is hard to believe but 2007 is almost done. We will have some special end of year news/posts but before that we want to get you on over to a good friend of the MTown - Culture Bully. Chris Deline has put together his best of 2007 for the Mashup scene. Make sure you check it out HERE.

Well, folks 2007 has come and gone. And to help you celebrate the new year, the crew over here at mashuptown got together and put together a Best of 2007 compilation. This was a very tough thing to do as there were so many outstanding mashups in '07 to choose from. And at the rate that some of these producers are pumping out quality bootlegs, it seems that '08 will be no different.
| This weekend it's the last Mash-Up Your Bootz Party in Berlin for 2007. So all bootleggas & fellas come over and party with us, the last time so young! ;-) As Special Guest DJ this month I'm happy to announce that Mister Sushi is playing a special Bootie/Mash-Up Set. Mister Sushi, original from London, UK; played there @ partys like Bastard and 44 and lives now for some months in Berlin. Be sure to check this event out! If you have been around the internets for any time you have run across some Nigerian brothers who want to help you make millions by simply giving them a few bits of your financial information. Well me thinks that the Nigerians are now targeting DJs. Yes I have been getting several emails over the past couple of months from a 'Dr. Clerk Martins' asking me to "DJ" and event.

So while this may be the beginning of the fleecing of the DJ/Producers by the Nigerians it might be someone who just needs to have a gig DJ'd. If you get the gig let me know if this bloke is related to Dock Martins and say hello to the happy couple for me.

Well we thought we would start your Mashup week with some new material by DJ Le Clown. As alway he takes his innate knowledge of music, production, video and produces another stand up track. Here is what Phil had to say about his latest track and video 'She's a Model'
Today would be the perfect day for releasing my new baby: " She's a Model" , it's the opening of the 29thTransmusicales festival in Rennes (Britanny-france), it's in this festival (the best in france for "artistic discovers" as they say here). In this festival i met a lot of great artists "Snakefinger" the Residents guitar player was one of the best encounter i had - he was the sweetest guy of the galaxy- calm- cool- always charming- the first artist i saw quietly reading his book 5 min before going on stage alone with his guitars! So, I had a lot of pleasure to work on his Kraftwerk cover "the model". It's the only resurrection i could afford for him! Wish he would have enjoy to be mashed up with such a wonderful artist as Missy Elliot; for me on the hip hop scene she's ...What I prefer.
I simply love her work ...And her personality; It's funny how you can have the feeling to get close to the people across their songs their images...Maybe it's also because i used some of the "making off" of her wonderful video, it was relevant to the Snakefinger song. I didn't still any movies this time, i rather used some Jean Paul Gaultier's commercials; Jean Paul Gaultier is one of my heroes...I love his suits!!!; and I hope he'll love what i did with what i grabbed on the tube (so much that he'll send me some stuff of his new collection!) Well mashup is a way to say...I love you.
