You may have seen the latest video/mash by DJ Le Clown on MTown TV or the internets but we have the audio file ready for downloading for ya. We had a chance to sit down with DJ Le Clown on the weekend and get the 411 on the track:
"What could i say about Alan Vega, this
obscure NYC Star or comet or flash of the early 80's ; his "Juke Box
Babe" Was an hymn in Europe; I always loved it ! really cheap, nearly
no drums, hypnotic ; just one obsessing guitar gimmick and this punk
space rockabilly touch in ze voice...A perfect victim for a serial
mixer!...So when i heard the "rock aroud the clock" cliché sung by Jay
Z at the very start of "Justify my thug" :That was it ! As there're
nearly no pictures, programs or videos of Mister Vega (even the lyrics
are hard to catch) (!) I had to use what I could grab on Youtube...so
the Vid is a bit trash...Well that's "rock n roll video bootz" and it
fits the character of Alan Vega , whether him and his kind of
Frankenstein DJ Hell friend were, when I had the chance to meet them,
the sweetest persons (in hell)...It was obvious to me that Bill Haley
and the comets was the band to play in ze video...Thanks to them to
Alan Parson's clock and the white lines of requiem for a dream...thx to
mister Godard to put his turntable in the ocean and to Alan Vega to
insult everybody, to throw is guitar away on stage and merci to Mr Z
for telling him to relax...!"
Once again Phil produces a classic boot. Make sure you check him out and his latest mashterpieces at his site HERE. Peace.
