Greetings all. Professor Quillam is back to MashupTown. This week, I bring you another Two For Thursday blue light special spotlighting some of DJ Earworm's newest creations. First, we begin with Believe Somebody, which features Madonna's "Like A Virgin," Cher's "Believe," Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," and George Kranz's "Din Daa Daa." This little gem is a nice exercise in juggling various elements within one body and understanding how, and if, each element fits within the overall work. DJ Earworm does a fantastic job of interweaving the songs with one another to create a new story. He does so without sacrificing form and quality. A prime example occurs at 2 minutes and 57 seconds into the mash-up whereupon Earworm utilizes the "Like A Virgin" riff to propel the mashup into a well structured coda section. He then re-introduces the "Din Daa Daa" riff, which in turn sets up the remainder of the coda, much as it did in the opening seconds of the mashup. All things considered, a four and one half star event provided courtesy of DJ Earworm.
Acapella: Madonna - "Like A Virgin," Cher - "Believe," Whitney Houston - "Wanna Dance With Somebody"
Instrumental: George Kranz - "Din Daa Daa," Madonna - "Like A Virgin"
