In Part Two of this week's basketball game we spotlight Earworm's Promiscuous Lola. This creative concoction incorporates Sarah Vaughn's version of "What Ever Lola Wants" (from the musical "Damn Yankees") with Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous." Although relatively short in duration and minimal in components, Earworm once again shows us his keen ear--no pun intended--for quality songs and creative outlook. This might not be a club type of mashup, but it is one that shows off more creativity than about 80% of the mashups running wild in the great WWW. Prime example appears in Earworm's use of both instrumentals ("Promiscuous" and "What Ever Lola Wants") to create a more cohesive mashup while incorporating songs written more than 52 years apart. In the pop/rock/R&B world there is an understanding among singer/songwriters if you can't tell your story in less than 3 minutes and 50 seconds then you are not going to get listener support. The same holds true with mashups. Earworm creates a cohesive hit lasting a mere 2 minutes and 42 seconds, yet sacrifices neither quality, form, nor content. Five stars galore.
