Ben Is Chasing Beautiful Girls
This mashup is a prime example of what drew me to mashups in
the first place. Old, washed up songs
that were just meant to be combined so they sound fresh again. It’s not that I can’t appreciate creative
mashups that use songs you’d never think would go together. But there’s something to be said about more
‘obvious’ mashups, where the tunes or melodies are similar. The art form wouldn’t
have progressed to where it is without people thinking ‘Hey, this sounds like
that!” But don’t be thinking this one is
boring because of that. Norwegian
Recycling takes a cue from Earworm and mashes six tracks into this sucker. Bonus points for using the 90210 opening
theme!

This is another excellent track. I downloaded it previously, but didn't get to listen carefully 'till today. At the end, my brain started adding, "Mamma's all-right, daddy's all-right..." because it fits. I then started also thinking of "Every Breath you take" and mentally layered that in. However, they are not needed. This work, like your past work, works based on progression and emotive content. Your songs have a great feel to them. My favorite part in this one is when the analog synth comes in.
My only critical note is minor. I was slightly jarred between "Stand By Me", and "If I Lay Here", because the original engineering of the vocals is so different.
