This week's Two For Tuesday segment features another Producer vs Producer sumo wrestling match in which we take a peek at how two distinct producers breakdown and reformulate one song. The target song this week is AC-DC's "Back in Black." We first begin with DJ Nicky T's mash-up titled "Woohaa" wherein we are treated to a rap version of the metal band's throat-scratching, lozenge-desiring, hair-that-doesn't-fit-in-my-hat vocal stylings of Brian Johnson with Busta Rhymes' unique voice timber as evidenced in "Woohaa! Got You All In Check." This little 1:1 ratio recipe stands firm on "Back in Black's" guitar riffs and Johnson's verse vocalization. The "Woohaa" acapella seems to find a nice home with the metal energy that is AC-DC. Overall, DJ Nicky T does a nice job in properly constructing the form to this mash-up. The pella and instrumental are both of good quality, thus adding to the overall listening satisfaction. All things considered, this one is a solid four and one half star event.
[The mp3 is from my own personal collection. I don't believe it is currently on DJ Nicky T's website]
Acapella: Busta Rhymes - "Woohaa! Got You All In Check"
