Two For Tuesday: Sub-Urban Stylings - Part Two

The spotlight on this week's Two For Tuesday shines brightly on another Brat production.  In  "Dreaming In Your Sleep," the listener is treated to a mash-up where the marriage of acapella and instrumental creates a strong functional unit which is unfortunately somewhat downgraded by the hollow feeling left in the aural spectrum that appears to come about by the use of a high pass-like effect on Depeche Mode's Dream On acapella.  Although the effect itself is a clean, it tends to disassociate the acapella from the underlying instrumental to the extent that they appear not to be one functional unit.  Brat puts things back in gear, however, with a nicely produced vocoder segment utilizing the hook from The Romantics' Talking In Your Sleep.  As a Four Star production (out of five), this one is also a keeper.
