Depeche Mode vs Unkle vs Dead Can Dance. You cant go wrong with these bands. And yes this mashup is amazing. Dramatic, emotional, full of sad and dark energies. But I guess no one expects a happy little love song when the Unkle or the Dead Can Dance is in the mix.  LeeDM101, the Audio Lego Master made this unique experience and we will be forever thankful. I bought my year ticket to Audio Lego Land after the first spin. Now I'm organizing tours and booking trains to take you all there. Maybe I will buy a house too, to spend my retired years there...

Lugosi's Dead MongIlluminoid

The Illuminoids have produced a new track that caught my attention right away by the principle bands involved.  These guys have a very unique sound that takes great hooks and snags you with them not letting you go.  Their latest mash takes Beck's "Loser"  adds some of Devo's  "Mongoloid" and tosses in some Bauhaus "Bella Lugosi is Dead" for good measure.  What they get is a unique track and the start of dare I say the  'Illuminiod sound'.  In the few tracks Howie Pyro and Jells Mayhem have produced they are quickly  distinguishing themselves in the Mashup community with a sound that sets them apart from many Mashup artists.  Take a good listen to 'Dead Mongoloid Loser' and after your finished head on over to their site  (HERE) and listen to 'Forming You' a great mash of The Germs and The Ramones.  We are keeping our eyes and ears on these blokes.  You all have a great weekend.  Peace.

MASHley Slater - Cellophaned Bootlegs

Our friends in Paris, the bootlegsFr posse set up a very nice project again. They put on a mashup competition for the new Ashley Slater album. Ashley was the lead singer of the 90's cult band the Freakpower. The arrival and release of his new solo album times pefectly with the mashup competition. Each song is so fine, most of them feel like an original and the overall jazzy vibe makes me wanna boogie right now. The Cellophaned Bootlegs album is the perfect set for the weekend, go and grab the whole thing.   You can have it as a .rar file or all as separate songs.  Here is ComaR's track to start this sentimental weekend, the Cellophane Will Survive! Brand new release from Mark Vidler's Go Home Productions.  Here is what Mark has to say about the track:

God only knows what you'll make of this..love / hate-delete as appropriate etc.  Basically it's Daft Punks 'Nightvision' from their Discovery album and The Beatles 'When I'm Sixty Four'...but the result is something that could easily have been solo McCartney or Wings...(if you close your eyes).  Anyway, it's definitely not 'club' music..more sit down and listen music (do people still do that?).  It's a Sunday morning chill out record....or a wrist-slitter.
