Historia De La Musica Rock - 2002 to 2004
Soundhog, one of the living legends of the mashup culture produced a special retrospective collection from his early works. The Historia De La Musica Rock - 2002 to 2004 is an amazing collection of course - sounds fresh even today and these mashups are timeless IMO ! Here is what Soundhog has to say about this collection:
...people asked for it, so after 3 years I've done it. A selection of my early stuff, cleaned up a bit and collected together. Most of this stuff has been unavailable for an awfully long time, and a lot of it I'll wager you won't have heard before. I'd forgotten about much if it myself...
Go and grab this people as soon as you can. Here is a little appetizer, the (Are You Gonna Be My) Dirrty Girrl? from October 2003. Soundhog comments about the track:
I wanted something to kick off my first mix for XFM Radio to be something that would piss off the "indie" kids. The Jet track had come out a month or so earlier I think, and wasn't anywhere near as successful as it was on re-release a while later, so maybe the impact of slapping Xtina (I think that's what she's called now, is it?) over it was a bit lost on most of them. Still, sod it. When the track was finally a hit about a year later, of course, everyone started to use it... -
