DJ BytemastaB who has produced great tracks such as "Whoomp - There's the West End Girls" (which we previously featured here) has found a terrestrial radio station in St. Cloud, MN who's not showing much love to the Mashup Community. Basically they are taking tracks produced by others and claiming them as their own work according to BytemastaB. Check out the whole story here. Now I'm the first guy to help spread the love - it helps the community grow and get on the hard drives of many peeps - but you gotta give credit where credit is due. That means showing repsect to the Producers and the original artists who make these tracks we dig possible. I hope the BytemastaB keeps us updated. Peace.

Thanks for the heads-up! I hope they get swamped with the complaints!!
Hey, would you be able to give us the credits for their MP3s? Some of 'em I haven't seen before, and I can't find 'em with a search.
Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Allowing d/l's from their station site may be illegal...but so,too, are mashups(technically).
No need to get the FCC involved, eh?

"Allowing d/l's from their station site may be illegal...but so,too, are mashups(technically)."
Which is probably why they feel like they can get away with it--who are the DJs going to take their complaint to? The RIAA?
You know the old saying: "You can't cheat an honest man".
Don't get me wrong, what the radio station is doing sucks ass, but other than complaining to the management there's not a lot to be done about it.
