I've been looking for a Gustavo Cerati Boot for a long time. Our Man in Argentina Villa Diamante has produced a funky fresh feel good track that puts Gustavo up against De La Soul. Buenos Aires is one of the most fantastic cities I've ever visited so posting this track brings back good time memories. Great town with some great Mashup artists. Props to Diamante. Check out the rest of his artwork at his site. Ciao.
After about 8 weeks of being out of commission, the Bootie Blog has finally returned.
Without making excuses for the downtime, the site was impacted by some fatal bugs in the Blogger
system followed by some DNS problems in transferring the domain bootie.fm to a new
hosting account. But now the site is back so visit them and enjoy the new features and the information overload about the mashup culture...
..and here is something to listen, during the read. The man behind the Bootie Blog, the World Famous Audio Hacker made this tune, which is more like a remix that a mashup but it is fine anyway. It was selected for the mashup of the week by the Pop Bytes and it showed up on our very own MashupTown Forum as well. Listen, comment, enjoy.
The world's best mashup artist Mark Vidler aka Go Home Productions released a virtual vinyl EP today. Run and get it before it gets too late!!!
Beside of the MPFree EP Mark has 3 new bootlegs on his mp3 section. One of the is this club tune, containing The Cure, The Boomtown Rats and New Order. Here is what Mark says about the track: - Originally created for the club Manumission, to promote their nights switching from a Monday to a Friday. If you were anywhere near Ibiza during the summer you will have heard this quite a bit. There's a 'radio edit' of this somewhere on my hardrive but this 'club mix' makes more sense I suppose. -
Hello MTown citizens! This is Simon Iddol with a sensational mashup project, the Flying White Dots. The man behind the music is an english bootlegger from Brighton, he made a fantastic psychedelic mashup album called Staring at the Sky. Probably this is the mashup album of the year, but in the TOP3 for sure. Get the whole thing, as soon as you can!!! Here is a little taster the True School Walrus, one of most outstanding Beatles boot I ever heard.
