Definition of a Mashup
Today, something different.
The new DJ Morgoth album "Mash-Up Your Bootz Vol. 3" is out now.
And the different thing is that the subtitle is "Das Deutsche Album" or in translation "The German Album". So this means, there are only German Vocals used in the trackz. Expect some international bands like Blur, Fear Factory, Celldweller, Daft Punk, Evanescence, Kasabian, Depeche Mode, Bloc Party and more meeting up with the German Vocals of Rap/Hip-Hop Artists (Die Fantastischen Vier, Dynamite Deluxe, Jan Delay, Deichkind...), controversial Rock Band (Böhse Onkelz), famous Reggae/Dancehall Group (Seeed), Electro-Acts (Lützenkirchen & Deichkind), Pop-Artist (Ich und Ich) or even some Newcomer, Local & Fresh Bands (Planetakis, Egotronic).
Have fun with the German Vocals of some local Superacts and getting in touch with a few great new artists.
The recommended tune is a mixture of 2 big-sellers here. On the one hand "Rammstein", which are also kinda famous international and on the other side "Fettes Brot", which were after Fanta 4 one of the first better German Rap Groups.
So the Sun is getting Gay now... ;-)
I think it Austrian's week!
Now it's Dancefloor time...this Clive$ter Mash follows me now for some weeks.
The current clubhit by David Guetta feat. Cozy, "Baby When The Lights" meets up with Madonna's classic "Like A Virgin".
I especially love the chorus part when Cozy & Madonna are singing together and also the lyrics are fitting together...beautiful!
So prepare your dancing shoes & let's get started!

I just recognized I missed to post new DJ Schmolli tunez for long time here...sorry! ;-)
So here we go with a great doublepack:
First: Schmolli is kicking "The Kooks" & Beastie Boys asses and he's going back to his rock side...
Second: After this...put your guns out and make them ready to rock with M.I.A. & Bon Jovi. Yeeha Baby!
This hot tunez don't need any more arguments.

"Serial abuse of mashup can drive you crazy" That's maybe why i used a scene of "Spellbound" as an intro for my Sweet Lobster. I couldn't resist; Sweet Dreams made me remember of those fantastic Dream's scenes of Alfred Hitchcock movie - maybe was also because the master asked an other crazy guy to imagine them for the screen; Salvatore Dali. As B52's "Rock Lobster" worked perfectly with the eurythmics song; it was then obvious to me that Sponge Bob was the Wright guy for me to play guitars in that mash...Who knows better about shellfishes, than the rockin' square sponge itself ?" - DJ Le Clown
Always enjoy Phil's work. DJ Le Clown will be invading the USA and performing two shows for the BootieUSA folks soon. Dates TBA. Check out more at his site HERE.

There is a God. After a hiatus and announced retirement. Go Home Productions master Mark Vidler - the man - is back. And with a vengeance. Stop whatever you are doing right now and head over to Go Home Productions and download all the latest tracks off of his album "Spliced Krispies". So much mashup goodness that will make your ipod snap, krackel and pop. Added bonus - Video to accompany all the tracks. What a way to start off your weekend. Big ups to Mark for giving us a dose of pure, unadulterated GHP. Peace and have a great weekend.
This new multi-genre mashup EP recently released is a fantastic example of his work.
'The Shinobi EP represents my current interests in mixing and, i
believe, my best work yet - or at least, my best work at this
particular moment. Rich in flavor and syncopation it crosses genres
from Afrobeat to hip-hop, jazz-funk to classic rock, and electronica to
full-on pop. Listening to it as a whole, i've decided that it's
basically a party record and i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.'
Peace, Love & Sayónara, DJ not-i
Head on over to his site HERE for more 411. Peace.

LeeDM101 from the UK did a new beautiful Mash.
Depeche Mode is doing here an acoustic rock ballad together with Seether. Dream On is hooked up with Broken. What a wondeful pair.

Finally, now I found some time to post more recent stuff I've explored in the last weeks...in the beginning I have a actual track by Dunproofin'.
"The Futureheads", a British indie-rock band meets up with the Danisch pop band "Alphabeat". And this tune is the perfect soundtrack for summer...put out your sunglasses and have some fun!
Cheerz!
Our good friend and the prima Diva of the mashup world Katie Enlow has

I'm declaring email, message board, and rss feed bankruptcy. For the next month I'm going to try to track new Mashups via Twitter.com. Call it lazy, slack-ass or whatever but I'm just having way too much difficulty keeping track of submissions and I've most likely pissed too many of you off. We are just missing too many good tracks. So if you are a producer and want to experiment with this sign up for an account and ping me at twitter (mashuptown). Or if you are just a user and hear a great track that you deem worthy do the same. I will then follow you and pick up any new tracks that you want posted. All will be monitored using Twirl.org. The main site will NOT change NOR will your subscription method of choice. This is only changing how we may gather mashup submissions. Our tweet page is HERE. That is all. Peace.
UPDATE: Decided to publish some tracks that won't be available on the main site. It will give more producers more exposure and you more tracks. So get an account and watch for tweets.
You might also want to check out Clivester's new album over at Mashup-Industries. Titled the 'Odd American Gangster' is features Jay-Z up against Gnarls Barkley - mass tuneage.

This great track found it's way to my in box earlier today. Dan Dickenson and his VJ Army mixed a delicious mash which he describes below.
'In one hypothetical hand, I hold an instrumental version of Trent Reznor'sCloser.
The original is directly sexual and raw. It continues to have one of
the most familiar refrains in recent musical history - you know, the
one about, er, doing things to people like an animal and feeling them
from the inside.
In my other hypothetical hand, I hold the original staged version of Business Time by New Zealand's fourth most popular folk rock parody band, Flight Of The Conchords. Never has the actual process of lovemaking been so accurately described.'
Make sure you check out Dan's site right HERE. A big shout out to Derek Scott who tipped us off to this track. FOTC is one of my favorite shows so this track really made my day. Peace
New Copycat just hit our inbox. A few words below from Mr. CopycatI
don’t know much about this mashup artist other than his name – Overdub – and
that he is from
One of our favorites here at mashuptown goes by
the name of Bobby Martini, and we’re pleased to bring you his comeback track
after months of waiting. What we got
here is a Pink (aka Alecia) vs Alesha Dixon mash that Bobby started almost a year ago, but
was put on the backburner time and time again as he finished up other combos. Well now it’s done. And it’s good. Take note people, this is a lesson in
mashupology. A + B = C. C>B. C>A. C = Proper mashup.
I was reminded today that we haven't shown DJ Not-I some love lately so I headed on over to one of his many sites (myspace here) and found a track that needed to be shared. This track was produced for a GYBO regae/dub/dancehall challenge. We found it delectable. Nostalgia 77 vs. Bob Marley vs. Lee Perry - Dracula's 77 Nation Army. We also found the collectors edition of 'Feel All Apologies' (one of my all time favorite Mashups) Yes all 31mb of uncompressed aural pleasure. Enjoy. Peace.
